Product Description
JS100 "Blackberry and white pepper with black tobacco and hints of iron, terra cotta and mushrooms. Medium- to full-bodied with a solid core of tannins and earthy, spicy, meaty and chocolaty undertones. Very complex and layered with a tightly wound ball of cashmere. It’s so textural, plush and gorgeous. Drinkable but better in three or four years," James Suckling Jan 2024
DR99 "IX Estate Syrah is absolutely seamless and polished in 2021, offering an intensely fragrant profile of black cherry and blue fruit compote, lifted by zesty grapefruit, orange oil, violets, and white truffle charcuterie. Medium- to full-bodied, it carries an opulent mix of red, black, and blue fruit, framed by elliptical tannins with crisp, elegant edges and a wonderfully plump mid-palate. This supple yet dense structure creates remarkable staying power, leading to an almost unbelievable length. The finish is expansive and mineral-driven, with saline notes emerging in spades intertwined with a lingering twist of orange peel and citrus zest—a striking and beautifully layered Syrah. (Drink between 2025-2045)" Jonathan Cristaldi for Decanter April 2025
RP98 "All destemmed and aged in Burgundy pièces from the likes of Damy, François Frères and Ermitage, the 2021 Syrah IX Estate boasts considerable floral and herbal nuances on the nose, along with something akin to rust, corroded iron or blood and layers of black cherry and plum fruit. Full-bodied, rich and velvety in texture, it lacks the finesse and elegance of the 2018, but it pales only in comparison to that beauty, finishing long, with echoes of espresso, licorice and peppery spice." Joe Czerwinski for The Wine Advocate March 2024
