RP98 "Hints of crushed stone and pencil shavings accent potent black cherries on the nose of Bond's 2021 Melbury, which comes off a seven-acre site overlooking Lake Hennessey. It's medium- to full-bodied, impressively concentrated and framed by dusty tannins that linger on the vanilla-tinged finish. It's classic, yummy stuff, with plenty of cellaring potential." LP98 "The 2021 Melbury is deep garnet-purple in color. It is a little closed and broody to start off, revealing notes of tar, underbrush, and fragrant moss over an emerging core of stewed plum and warm cassis plus a hint of Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly wound with energetic black fruit and savory flavors, framed by firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing with a peppery lift."
