Product Description

DR97 "A towering achievement. The new vintage of Clos de Tart demonstrates the nobility of this terroir with its immense depth of flavour, profoundly ripe red and black fruit, exotic spice, earthy elements and a saline/mineral touch. The texture is dense and firm, yet it is almost palpably voluptuous and still enlivened by a lovely freshness. There is definitely a touch of oak, but not enough to cover up the beauty of the wine. Lovely and special." CC for DR Oct 2021

VM96 "The 2020 Clos du Tart Grand Cru delivers a lot of new oak on the nose, occluding the fruit profile and terroir. At least initially, this feels high-toned and glossy before mustering more terroir expression and mineralité with rigorous aeration. The palate is well-balanced with fine but quite sturdy tannins. Touches of licorice tincture the fruit, which is slightly baked on the finish, causing me to dock a couple of points. This is an impressive Grand Cru with swagger, though pipped to the post by a couple of others in this flight. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting." NM for VM Oct 2024

BH95 "Here the more reticent nose is also markedly floral in character with its ripe aromas of plum, cassis, black raspberry and plethora of spice nuances along with a mentholated top note. There is excellent size, weight and mid-palate concentration along with almost painful intensity to the big-bodied flavors that brim with sappy dry extract that helps to buffer the very firm tannins shaping the balanced and hugely long finale. This is excellent though note well that this beauty is going to require extended patience. I would also note that it's a Clos de Tart fashioned in a riper, but not unduly roasted or heavy, style."
