Product Description

DR97 "A shimmering, lucid, ruby colour. Seductive aromas of ripe blackberry fruit, graphite, and suave tannins. Fresh, fragrant, polished and full of savoury spices atop plush fruit, leading to a medium to full-bodied finish that builds in stature through a wealth of herbs and spices. A 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 30-32 months in French oak barriques. Jayson Woodbridge purchased the David Fulton Vineyard in St. Helena on Fulton Lane, and a winery on site is now the home of Fortunate Son and 5.8 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon vines managed by Jim Barbour. Woodbridge appointed his son Cameron as cellar master in 2023. Woodbridge acquired a second estate vineyard for the Fortunate Son label in 2022 called Larkmead Vineyards. The 7.5 hectare ranch has been renamed True Romance and will serve as the site of a future Fortunate Son winery and estate slated to open in 2027." JC for DR Sep 2023

JD96 "Coming from two vineyards, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Dreamer sports a vivid purple hue to go with beautiful aromatics of darker currants, ripe cranberries, leafy tobacco, and spring flowers. I love its balance, it's medium to full-bodied, has gorgeous tannins, and a great finish." JD Feb 2023

LP96 "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 The Dreamer comes barreling out with powerful notes of stewed black plums, warm cassis, and Morello cherries giving way to nuances of menthol, Chinese five spice, and red loam. The full-bodied palate is charged with energetic black berry layers, framed by exquisitely ripe tannins, finishing very long with loads of mineral sparks." LPB for TWI Nov 2023
