Product Description

RP95 "The 2019 Corton Grand Cru has turned out brilliantly in bottle, wafting from the glass with a striking bouquet of dark berries, blood orange, potpourri, exotic spices, cedar and peonies. Full-bodied, layered and velvety, it's deep and concentrated, with lively acids, supple tannins and a penetrating, rose-inflected finish. It's the best Corton that the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has produced to date." WK for TWA Jan 2022 DR95 "This is the underdog (if there is one), produced from 2.27 hectares of vines from the Domaine Prince Florent de Merode. Picking began here on 19 September, and the yield was no more than 15 hl/ha. Despite the low yields and the classic winemaking (nearly all whole clusters and ageing in new casks) the aromas are on the light side and the body something of a disappointment, with aromas of raspberry and mint, and a fairly pronounced aroma of the maturation in cask. The wine seemed less concentrated and yet oddly more astringent than it had from barrel." CC for DR Mar 2022
