2019 Blankiet Estate, Paradise Hills Vineyard Mythicus, Napa Valley, Bottle (750ml)

JD100 Pure gold, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mythicus checks in as pure Cabernet Sauvignon coming from three separate vineyards. It has that incredible profile of power without weight that’s so hard to find, and again, it has a Lafite-like elegance and class in its aromatics as well as on the palate. Blackcurrants, smoked tobacco, loamy earth, freshly sharpened pencils, and graphite all define the bouquet, and it’s full-bodied, with incredible tannins and a broad yet seamless, pure, and precise mouthfeel. It hit 14.5% natural alcohol, the pH is 3.85, and it spent 18 months in new T5 barrels from Taransaud. This wine absolutely stopped me in my tracks. There are just 175 cases produced, but it’s a legendary Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon that I suspect will have 30+ years of prime drinking.
