Product Description
RP99 Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard was aged for 22 months in French oak, 100% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, it leaps from the glass with notes of kirsch, Black Forest cake, cassis and lilacs, plus hints of cumin seed, star anise and tilled soil, leading to wafts of Sichuan pepper and pencil lead. Full-bodied, firm, fine-grained and with jaw-dropping freshness, the palate is packed with subtle black and red fruit layers and bags of earthy nuances, finishing very long with all those exotic spices coming through. 150 cases were made.
JD98+ In the same ballpark as the 2016 (I’m probably underrating it), the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Dr. Crane Vineyard boasts a serious, age-worthy, full-bodied, powerful style that offers Graves-like blackcurrants, scorched earth, tobacco leaf, and chocolate. It’s young, unevolved, and primary, yet the purity and freshness of the vintage are front and center This is a magical Cabernet that’s going to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and cruise for two decades or more.
