Dana Lotus 2017 - RP98 "Lotus vineyard is just below Howell Mountain, not high enough to make that AVA. A very steep vineyard, 100% hand farmed, Lotus is by far the warmest site for this estate. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard is made from Cabernet Sauvignon with just a 1% splash of Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it bursts from the glass with vibrant, primary scents of black raspberries, ripe blackberries and wild blueberries with emerging notions of blackcurrant pastilles, lilacs, cinnamon toast and sandalwood. The full-bodied palate is built like a brick house, featuring firm, grainy tannins and tons of freshness supporting the densely packed, muscular black fruits, finishing with epic length and depth. 342 cases were made." Dana Lotus 2018 - JS100 "Seductive aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, black olives, pine needles and violets follow through to a full body. The tannins are so poised and dynamic, while being extremely fine and focused. It goes on for minutes. Caresses every millimeter of your palate. Dana Lotus 2019 - AG100 "The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard is a total stunner. What a wine. Rich, sumptuous and enveloping, the 2019 makes a strong first impression and never lets up. There's tremendous density and power, but tons of layers and overall vibrancy that lend balance. Plum, mocha, licorice, espresso and a kick of new French oak build into the huge, sumptuous finish. As always, the Lotus has a bit more overt oak influence than the other wines, but it works well here." AG for VM Jan 2022
