Product Description
AG100 "The 2016 Trinoro is one of the most extraordinary wines I have ever tasted from Trinoro and proprietor Andrea Franchetti. Deep and yet also silky, with exceptionally refined tannins and exquisite balance, the 2016 has so much to recommend it. Dark raspberry jam, white chocolate, mint and rose petal notes are all finely knit in this sublime, exquisitely beautiful wine. The finish alone boasts mind-bending intensity and persistence." Monical Larner for RobertParker.com writes, "Andrea Franchetti provided me with a little excerpt from his 2016 harvest diary. I have included it here because it is delightful to read. If I could live inside the brain of any one Italian vintner, I would definitely choose to experience the technicolor intensity of his random and poetic thoughts. "We finished picking Cabernet Franc on the 13th; the tanks are filled with black, waxy raisins that will be fermenting for the next two weeks. It was a fine vintage. A rich, roasted quality of the wine comes up to the nose already. The clue to this vintage was to recognize the long August burn... The Merlot was picked in Cavalli Nord on September 27, while the Cabernet Franc from Camagi Nord and Sotto Cocceto was picked on October 10. We are, however, exhausted from wrestling so many harvests out of a drizzle that went on for weeks. I am changing all the lights in the cellar from neon, which almost drove us insane, to the softer, yellow light bulb. We push and pump and then go to the woods with our green umbrellas. We lose sight of each other and look to see who comes back out of the haze with porcini." Published: May 31, 2019
