Product Description
RP100 "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is still very tight and youthful, slowly unfurling to reveal a multifaceted wine with tons of black, blue and red fruit sparks—plums, cherries, black currants and red currants—with dark chocolate, cedar chest, black tea and red roses in the background plus wafts of pencil lead and prosciutto. Medium-bodied and firmly textured by superbly ripe, grainy tannins, it has a fantastic core of intense, complex layers, finishing on an edifying mineral note. Wow!" LPB for TWA Oct 2018
JD100 "Also perfect, yet in a very different style, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate can be thought of as mix of the 2010 and 2015. Classic Cabernet notes of green tobacco, pure cassis, sappy flowers, crushed stone, and cedar all emerge from the glass, and it’s full-bodied, with a layered, multi-dimensional texture, building tannins, and one blockbuster of a finish. This continues to show incredibly consistency and I’ve been lucky enough to have multiple bottles, all of which have topped out my scale. This is unquestionably a legendary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that will hit maturity in about a decade or so and keep for 40-50 years." JD May 2021
LP100 "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, with 12% Petit Verdot and 9% Cabernet Franc in the blend, is medium to deep garnet colored. The wine from this powerful vintage seems shut-down at this stage, slowly emerging from the glass with notes of black cherry compote, wild blueberries, and boysenberry preserves, with hints of menthol, cloves, and fragrant soil. The palate is full-bodied with a refreshing line and fine-grained tannins supporting the vibrant, youthful black and blue fruits, finishing with a floral lift." LPB for TWI Sep 2022
