2010 Domaine Georges Mugneret Gibourg, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru, Les Chaignots, Bottle (750ml)
Product Description
"Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2010 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots from Mugneret-Gibourg has a pretty, generous and quite detailed bouquet with red plum and dark cherries, fine mineralité and a palpable sense of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with supple red and black fruit, silky smooth in texture with a ripe and beautifully balanced finish that still needs a couple of years to reach its peak. This is a fabulous Chaignots from Mugneret-Gibourg. Tasted November 2016." NM 93 Pts for TWA Mar 2017
Allen Meadows for BurgHound writes, "This displays a layered combination of pungent earth, natural spice notes, black currant and plum, all of which is trimmed in a deft application of oak. The delicious, intense and vibrant flavors possess a sophisticated mouth feel as the supporting tannins are dense but fine, all wrapped in a delicious and lingering finish. Despite the refinement of the mid-palate the Nuits muscle shows up on the finish though there is no rusticity. (Drink starting 2018)" Published Jan 2013
Neal Martin for RobertParker.com writes, "People often ask: "What is favorite Burgundy grower" to which I often reply: "Mugneret-Gibourg." As I mentioned in my roundup of 2012s last year, their wines epitomize everything that the Côte d'Or should be. Whenever I depart a tasting from this address in the heart of Vosne, I feel an urge to just buy a case of everything I have just tasted. Like last year it was Marie-Christine he greeted me and escorted me down to their cellars and before we set about their small roster of 2013, she adumbrated the growing season...
