Product Description
JD96 "The 2009 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée De Mon Aïeul showed beautifully, with a classic, Provençal, medium to full-bodied, seamless style as well as textbook ripe black cherries, garrigue, spice, and incense nuances. Flawlessly balanced and seamless, with integrated tannins and no hard edges, it surprisingly reminds me slightly of the 2006 with its complete, Provençal, satisfying style. This builds nicely with air, so don't be afraid to give it a quick decant. Made from 100% Grenache, raised all in concrete tanks, drink this brilliant 2009 over the coming decade. Drink: 2025-2034." RP95 "Another wine that got better and better over the evening was the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de Mon Aieul. I've drunk through my fair share of bottles of this over the past few years. It has never shut down and has always shown well. A ripe, forward and sexy wine, it has lots of kirsch, garrigue, exotic spice and floral notes to go with a ripe, concentrated feel on the palate. It certainly has the vintage's Provencal character and is an exuberant, hedonistic Grenache to enjoy over the coming 10-12 years." JD for TWA Sep 2015
