2012 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, Bottle (750ml)

As was the case from cask, there is still a mild touch of reduction that is enough to knock down the expressiveness of the otherwise ripe dark berry and earth scents that are displaying moderate maturity. There is excellent richness, size, weight and power to the medium weight plus flavors that brim with mouth coating dry extract that buffers the still moderately firm tannic spine on the nicely long finish. This is still displaying the natural austerity of Clos Vougeot and for my taste, while still firm, it's not so compact and backward that it could not be enjoyed now. With that duly noted, another 3 to 5 years of cellaring some help to round off the finish and add a bit of depth.
