LP96 "The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-brick colored, it needs a fair bit of swirling to coax out notes of blackcurrant pastilles, blackberry preserves, and baked plums, plus hints of aniseed, crushed rocks, and bay leaves with a touch of iron ore. The medium-bodied palate is bright, crunchy, and impressively youthful, featuring firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness to support the taut, muscular fruit, finishing beautifully pure and fragrant."
