VM94+ "Saturated dark red. Complex nose combines strawberry, black raspberry, cedar, clove, minerals and piney underbrush; reminded me of Morey-Saint-Denis. Dense, thick and sweet, with almost porty flavors of black raspberry, strawberry and cedar supported by a backbone of steel. A huge, backward wine that opened slowly in the glass and should reward five or six years of additional bottle aging. One of the longest Brunellos of my recent tastings, with tannins in harmony with the wine's powerful fruit." ST for VM Sep 2003
