Product Description
NM94 "Tasted single blind at the Fine Wine Experience horizontal in London. This has a gregarious nose, very extrovert with ripe red-berried fruit, a touch of menthol coming through, the most New World of the flight so far. Touch of black olive tapenade and liquorices. Good definition though. The palate is full-bodied with firm tannins, good acidity, solid structure, very powerful and with great depth and persistency. Off-dry, masculine, tobacco, a little sous-bois, black tea and black pepper. Very good length and character and with time, the finesse really show through. So elegant and no doubt outstanding value given its marker price." NM for RobertParker.com Published: May 29, 2009
Robert Parker writes, "Fully mature, this has always been one of the best wines of the vintage. The stunning aromatics soar out of the glass, offering up notes of acacia flower intermixed with black currants, smoke, tobacco, and incense. A luscious texture in a beautifully concentrated but very pure, medium to full-bodied style displays layers of flavor as well as a seamlessness that is endearing if not compelling. The wine is a beauty and is the first vintage to signal the return of Rauzan-Segla to the ranks of quality Bordeaux chateau." Published: Dec 31, 2002
