Product Description
LP98 "Medium garnet-brick.Evolved, high-quality claret nose: stewed plums, allspice, leather, oolong tea and warm fig. Medium to full body and medium+ acid suggesting a warm but not hot year and perhaps right bank, medium to firm velvety tannins point to a good vintage. Complex and very, very long, layered finish. About as good as it gets." LPB for WJ Jan 2009
Robert Parker writes, "About three years after the vintage I realized I had completely under-estimated this Pauillac. A superb Pichon-Longueville-Baron, as well as one of the vintage's great wines, it boasts a dense purple color with pink/orange hues at the rim. The super-expressive nose offers black currants, cedar, iron, and minerals. Rich, full-bodied, and just as dense and concentrated as Grand-Puy-Lacoste, but more complex, this is a spectacular effort. This stunning 1982 is undoubtedly under-priced at auctions." 95Pts Published: Jun 25, 2000
