Product Description

DR95 "From the very first time I encountered this wine well over a decade ago it has been a less than likely candidate to be described as 'luxurious'… but luxurious it is today. Back then it rivalled the 1982 for concentration and opulence. Most recently I encountered two bottles in the summer of 2021. Still rich in colour and very much on the 'purple' spectrum aromatically. It has an opulence and a texture that you only find in mature Pomerol, where the wines seem to hang on to their fruit a little longer than their left bank counterparts. I remarked at the time that the wine was 'perfect' owing to its fabulous length and sweet/savoury umami character. Not a 100 point 'perfect' wine of course… rarely the best wines are."
