LP96 The 2011 Vecina is deep garnet in color. Notes of raspberry coulis, baked plums, and boysenberry preserves spill from the glass, followed by hints of cracked peppercorns, Indian spices, and mossy tree bark. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers nicely evolving savory and black fruit preserves flavors accented by exotic spices and supported by lightly chewy tannins, finishing long and opulent. AG95 Black cherry, tobacco, cracked pepper, juniper berries cedar, leather, dried herbs and smoke are all finely sketched in the 2011 Vecina. Savory in its aromatics, yet also quite deep, the 2011 possesses remarkable concentration, especially within the context of the vintage, not to mention terrific overall balance.
