Joseph Phelps Winery was founded in 1973 and quickly became one of Napa Valley's top wineries. Keen to differentiate his estate from powerhouses Stags Leap and Chateau Montelena amongst others, Phelps coneptualized creating a proprietary red Bordeaux-style blend from multiple of Napa Valley's best vineyards.
