Double 100 Pointer BOND Vecina 2013 'Otherworldly'

The otherworldly 2013, the 2015 ... this extraordinary visionary project of Bill Harlan.

"The five separate single vineyards that Bill Harlan continue to perform at first growth quality levels. ...the otherworldly 2013s, the 2015s will reach a new qualitative pinnacle for this extraordinary visionary project of Bill Harlan and his winemaking team, led by Bob Levy." Robert M. Parker, Jr - October 2016

Our BOND Otherworldly Collection including the Double 100 Point Vecina 2013100 Point 2015 Pluribus and the Triple 99 point 2018 Pluribus already priced the lowest in the world.

Bill Harlan and Bob Levy worked with over 80 vineyards in the Napa Valley during their journey to create a wine that was 'Grand Cru' in quality. The duo selected the finest terroirs to begin production on a collection of Cabernet Sauvignon wines that exhibited the diversity and remarkability of their geographic regions. These small hillside vineyards became home to the BOND wines.

Each impressive and noteworthy in its own way, these five wines embody the range of the Napa Valley terroir. "All of them have great singularity and are made with absolutely no compromises. In the great vintages, such as 2012 and no doubt 2013, these wines clearly have 25-35+ years of aging potential. I wouldn’t be surprised in certain years to see them go on for 50 or more years."

Double 100 Pointer - RP100 & AG100:

"The perfect 2013 Vecina offers up notes of pen ink, scorched earth, espresso, blackcurrant liqueur and blackberries. It is a fabulously great wine, with supple, well-integrated tannin, decent acidity, and a skyscraper-like mouthfeel, with extraordinary purity and richness. This is an amazing wine to drink over the next 50 years." Robert M. Parker, Jr. October 2016

Robert Parker 100-Points:

"Bottled in early 2018, the 2015 Pluribus is deep purple-black colored with minted cassis, pencil shavings and tobacco over a core of black plums, black berry preserves and mulberries plus hints of Chinese five spice and dried lavender. Big, rich, bold and decadent, it has a firm line of super ripe, grainy tannins and fantastic freshness lifting the generous flavors to a long finish." Lisa Perrotti-Brown October 2018

About the Terroirs

"The origins of the five separate single vineyards represent completely different expositions, terroirs and micro-climates in Napa Valley. For example, the Melbury originates in the hillsides north of Lake Hennessey, in the hills east of Rutherford and is a seven-acre, rocky vineyard. The Quella is a nine-acre site in the eastern hills overlooking Napa Valley. Its composition is cobble and various sizes of rocks as well as the white volcanic ash called tufa. St. Eden is just north of the Oakville crossroad on an 11-acre rocky knoll in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains. Soils here are iron-rich, fractured volcanic rock. The Vecina, which is closest to the Bond and Harlan vineyards and wineries is an 11-acre site facing east toward the Vaca Mountains in the Mayacamas foothills. This is made up of very pebbly, alluvial soils over sedimentary, fractured bedrock. Lastly, the Pluribus is a seven-acre site on Spring Mountain at an elevation of 1,100 feet. Soils here are all of volcanic origin, and the exposition is north and east.
