Saint Emilion, Bordeaux has a special place in my heart and life as that is where Everett and I spent our Honeymoon, back in 2001. That was before we even knew much about wine. I remember mispronouncing "Angelus" so badly, I get embarrassed even thinking about that time. We had no idea that in 7 years we would be running a wine business with the philosophy of: "Let your Yes, be yes and your No, be no." Of course, we still mispronounce wine names, but we know enough to apologize ahead of time for the lack of French accent!

Entertain and gift your loved ones with wines that will change their lives! Or ruin their lives because they will no longer accept the red wine they had been drinking! Hurryas there is still a little time for the near holiday celebrations and plenty of time for your future celebrations! But the 10% Off is for a limited time!

The World's Richest Vintage: 2005 Bordeaux

Wine Spectator March 2008 by James Suckling
The 2005 vintage in Bordeaux will go down in the history books alongside other great modern classics for the region, including 2003, 2000, 1995, 1990, 1989 and 1982.
But I think 2005 is actually superior to 1989. The wines are not only better made, they were better born. They were produced in one of the best periods in the history of Bordeaux winemaking;
Is 2005, though, better than the postmodern classic 2000? On the Right Bank (centered around St.-Emilion and Pomerol), the answer is yes. I rate 2005 99 points for this region ... the extraordinary success of 2005 is underscored by the total number of wines that earned perfect 100-point scores—eight overall, with seven reds and one dry white—the most I've ever given in a tasting of young Bordeaux.

The Legendary Vintage: 2009 Bordeaux

Wine Spectator December 2009 by James Suckling
Every year, vintners learn a crucial lesson: No two vintages are the same. In 2009, Mother Nature smiled on France—every major region enjoyed a beautiful growing season.
How good was 2009 to Bordeaux? A number of vintners say that their wines are already so fantastic that they are enjoying them straight from the vat. Some are heralding the vintage as their best ever.
"I have never seen anything like it in my career," said Christian Moueix, whose family owns or manages some of the most prestigious wineries on Bordeaux's Right Bank, including Pétrus, La Fleur-Pétrus and Trotanoy. Moueix has been making wine in Pomerol and St.-Emilion since 1971. Vintners in Bordeaux are already making comparisons to some of the modern legends of the region including 2005, 1989 and 1982. The vintage appears to be sensational. I have never heard such across-the-board praise for a young vintage in my three decades of tasting young vintages in Bordeaux

Critical Acclaim:

"Black licorice, tar and fresh mushroom aromas lead to a full-bodied palate, with soft, velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Balanced and juicy. Velvety and attractive, yet powerful and structured. Best after 2016." James Suckling Mar 2008

2005 Chateau Rol Valentin | Wine Spectator 95 < $80

"Deep garnet-brick in color, the 2005 Clos de Sarpe has an absolute blockbuster nose of liquid licorice, violets, Chinese five spice and chocolate box with nuances of smoked meats, cigar box, cast iron pan and Marmite toast - really incredible intensity! The palate is full-bodied and rich yet with the most incredible freshness, giving very fine, velvety tannins and an incredibly long, very layered finish. Wow!" Lisa Perrotti-Brown May 2018

2005 Chateau Clos de Sarpe | Robert Parker 97 < $135

"Opaque purple, with a sweet blue and blackberry perfume intertwined with licorice and graphite, the 2005 La Confession exhibits massive concentration and extraction, but this full-bodied wine pulls back from being over-the-top because of intrinsic freshness and admirable purity. It is a brilliant effort from the young Janouiex, but it needs some cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2028" Robert M. Parker, Jr.  Apr 2008 "The fifth vintage for young Jean-Philippe Janoueix has turned out to be magical."

2005 Chateau La Confession | Robert Parker 95 < $90

"The Peby Faugeres comes from a sector of Faugeres of over 20 acres where the vines are 45 years of age on average. In 2009 the yields were only 18 hectoliters per hectare. This 100% Merlot cuvee was impressive from barrel but is even more remarkable from bottle. One of the superstars of the vintage, this dense, opaque purple wine displays notes of blueberry liqueur intermixed with graphite, pen ink, licorice, incense and white flowers. Deep and full-bodied, with a boatload of tannin and glycerin as well as incredible texture and length, this is a wine of first-growth quality from St.-Emilion that should be cellared for a good 7-8 years, and then drunk over the following 25-30. It finished at around 15% natural alcohol and there are about 1,000 cases of it." Robert M. Parker, Jr.  December 2011

2009 Chateau Peby Faugeres | Robert Parker 98+ < $160
