What I love about collecting Mouton, in addition to its incredible reputation, is the Label Art. Each year an artist is collaborates to express their passion for the Mouton-Rothschild Grand Vin Label. In 2010, it was the famous artist Jeff Koons.
Koons, born in 1955 is considered one of the most important, as well as controversial artists from America. Koons is one of the most successful, contemporary as well as American artists. In fact, his work, Tulips just sold in November, 2012 for $33,682,500 setting a record for the highest price for a work of art created by a living artist!

It seems to unfurl in the glass, like a motor revving its engine. The palate is beautifully balanced with its trademark firm tannic structure, a Mouton-Rothschild with backbone and masculinity. Bernard Séjourné (1947-1994) was born in Haiti where his family were planters. His work holds echoes of some ancient culture: women with long graceful necks and half-closed eyes; seashells and tropical flowers; the subtle charm of pastel colours and smooth, wave-like shapes. His trio of masks rising from the dark in their "white negritude" for the label of Mouton Rothschild 1986 is one of the finest examples of his work.
