Product Description

RP100 "The brilliant 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon boasts an inky/purple color as well as glorious aromas of spring flowers, lead pencil shavings, licorice and a multitude of wild mountain fruits, in particular black raspberry, blackberry and cassis reminiscent of a French Pauillac (although I always think of Spottswoode as the Chateau Margaux of Napa). With a flawless integration of tannin, wood and acidity, it comes across like a liquid version of haute couture from the house of Chanel. It should drink well young yet age for 25 years." LPB for WA Oct 2018

JD100 "Another perfect wine from this team, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a deep, concentrated, incredibly pure Cabernet with incredible crème de cassis fruits as well as complex notes of sandalwood, cedar, sappy flowers, and graphite. This puppy is still young and exuberant, with an inky purple color, yet it still has remarkable complexity. Full-bodied, concentrated, and balanced, it has sweet tannins giving it ample drinkability today yet will no doubt cruise for another 30 years. I wouldn’t put it past evolving for another 40+, and it might be one of the longest-lived wines from this estate out there." JD May 2021

LP100 "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, from a cooler vintage, has 6% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot in the blend. Medium to deep garnet-brick in color, it comes out swinging with notes of warm cassis, sauteed herbs, and kirsch on the nose, leading to hints of charcuterie, wet slate, and tobacco. The medium-bodied palate has an impressive structure of firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness with tightly wound black fruit and savory layers, finishing long and minerally. 2,586 cases were made." LPB for TWI Sep 2022
