Legendary winemaker, Philippe Melka, has been at the helm since the estate's inception, crafting bold cabernet sauvignon from top vineyards and producing a sauvignon blanc gem, often referred as one of California's greatest white wines. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3 style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eThe Lail Vineyards Legacy\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Lail family's connection to winemaking began in 1879 when Captain Gustav Niebaum established \u003cstrong\u003eInglenook Winery\u003c\/strong\u003e. His grandnephew, \u003cstrong\u003eJohn Daniel\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003cstrong\u003eJr.\u003c\/strong\u003e, continued the family legacy, inheriting and elevating the status of Inglenook. Following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, John Daniel reopened operations and later acquired \u003cstrong\u003eNapanook Vineyard\u003c\/strong\u003e, merging the iconic site into Inglenook.
